Instructions for Signing Up for a MISGA Mixer
You must be a member of the Musket Ridge MISGA before registering for a mixer. We use the MISGA Sign-Up System designed and maintained by Tom Rowlett.
How handicap strokes are calculated for MISGA double best ball events.
We use the USGA rules for double best ball events. First handicap indexes are converted to course handicaps based on the tee boxes being used. Then the course handicaps are adjusted for the differences in the course ratings for each tee and then the 90/95% adjustment is applied as appropriate.
Rated Tees Used for MISGA Events
Tee Boxes | Course Rating | Course Slope | Yardage | Par |
---|---|---|---|---|
White (Men) | 68.9 | 128 | 5,884 | 72 |
Red (Men) | 66.6 | 122 | 5,333 | 72 |
Red (Ladies) | 70.5 | 126 | 5,333 | 72 |
PGA & USGA "Tee It Forward" Initiative Information
Men play from the white tees unless they request to play from the men’s forward (red) tees. Ladies compete from the ladies’ red tees. Visiting club player's lists must be annotated with an "R" to show those men golfers who want to play from the men's forward (red) tees. Adjustments may be called in to the pro shop before the day of the event. No adjustments are made on the morning of the event. Visiting clubs are notified of the tee option in the annual confirmation letter and in the two-week advance notice sent to each participating club.
